Young Forever

I understand that everyone does not enjoy the thought of dragging themselves to the gym every day, counting their macros, weighing their food, and carrying around a gallon of water everywhere they go. I get it and would not try to influence or push anyone to do so unless they were committed to a specific goal with a specific timeline and that was the plan to help them accomplish that goal. I do believe that everyone wants to feel good. Everyone wants to enjoy a healthy, happy, and long life. As part of my personal resolution for 2023 I am committed to giving more. More time, more love, more smiles. More of anything I can that will help fulfill my personal mission of positively impacting millions of lives per month.

I spend quite a bit of time learning from experts about how to live a healthy, happy, and productive life for myself and I enjoy sharing this knowledge with those whom I spend time with regularly. In my quest to give more, I have decided to utilize technology to expand my reach of sharing to anyone who is interested in learning more about this topic.

Recently, while listening to an episode on the School of Greatness Podcast with Lewis Howes, I came across an interview with a doctor by the name of Mark Hyman. He was enthusiastically talking about aging and disease. His 30+ years of research and treating thousands of patients has provided him with a unique understanding of aging and disease.

While listening, I was drawn in as he spoke about his approach to treating people had changed from treating symptoms to treating something he referred to as “hallmarks of aging”. I thought back to my sister who passed away in her 40’s from complications resulting from diabetes. My beloved “Aunt Pam” who passed away from COVID 19 due to multiple pre-existing conditions. The mother of my firstborn son who passed away from cancer at the age of 51. My best friend passed away from cancer at the age of 58. And many more stories I have heard. I have personally lost 6 of my close friends and relatives over the past 2 years from diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and depression and I know many others who are currently battling one or more of these conditions.

Dr. Hyman’s approach is to prevent these diseases through treating the hallmarks instead of the symptoms. These are 10 things that we can proactively treat that will not only support our body in protecting itself against disease but can reverse the biological effects of aging. In fact, he has tested himself and through his own bloodwork he has reversed his own biological age. No, we cannot change our chronological age, but based on his research we can reverse our biological age. Yes, he is 63 and his biological age is 43. His message was so compelling that I preordered his book Young Forever. I have received it and as I dive in, I am going to share my takeaways through this blog and my social media platforms, in hopes to help anyone who wants tag along.
